Health monitoring

The battery management system also keeps the health of the battery pack in check by collecting all the data related to its state of charge & state of health. BMS provides feedbacks like power & energy estimation to keep the maintenance technician informed about any risky situation.

Communication

The battery management system is responsible for communicating internally with other electronic units to control the voltage output of the battery pack.

Cell imbalance

Unlike lead-acid batteries, lithium phosphate batteries don’t self-equalize during charging. If you stop charging when only one cell is fully charged while other cells are not, the battery will perform below its ideal capacity.
