Guide to Commercial Carpeting and its Applications

Commercial carpeting has many purposes and is an integral part of every commercial building. Since commercial places experience a lot of foot traffic, stress and strains, and heavy resistance due to large furniture, they need to be ultra-durable and impervious to rough usage. The commercial carpets comprise strong fibres looped through the carpet backing, making the carpet's surface tougher and more durable.

Commercially-rated carpets have a lower pile, which means that commercial carpenters are relatively thinner. The lower pile feature of commercial carpeting provides better resilience and tolerance toward wear and tear. Lower thickness allows commercial carpets to resist matting or crushing. Industrial carpets are available in different shapes, sizes, patterns and colours. You can acquire carpets that fit your commercial space adequately.

Different Types of Commercial Carpeting Fibres

Commercial carpeting is suitable for entry points of retail stores, commercial gyms, shopping complexes, private offices, department stores, airports, banks, and even common households. They're made of different materials, and each material type has its own specifications. Let us check out some of the major commercial carpeting materials used prominently in the industry.

Nylon: Manufactures largely choose nylon for making commercial carpeting for commercial buildings, condos, and apartments. Nylon is a strong fibre that is strong and elastic at the same time. Also, it is quite safe for indoor applications because it is resistant to heat and less prone to catching fire than other alternatives. But it is not suitable for outdoor applications.

Polyester: Polyester or "PET" generally costs lower than nylon. The advantage of using polyester fibre is that it has all the properties of nylon, but unlike nylon, it works in indoor and outdoor applications. The fibre has waterproof and fireproof properties and is also less susceptible to staining, making it a splendid material for commercial carpeting for all types of commercial spaces.

Polypropylene: Polypropylene is one of the recently used polymer fibres with various properties. Additionally, these fibres can be recycled and reused easily. The best feature of polypropylene is that it is more inexpensive than its alternatives. The material can hold up very well in high-traffic areas. You can find polypropylene-made commercial carpets in grocery stores and office lobbies. It is resistant to mould and fungus but stains easily.

Conclusion: Commercial carpet tiles are practically easy to install; one can install the commercial carpet without taking assistance from a professional.
